ASTON VILLA VS BLACKBURN MATCH REVIEW

ASTON VILLA VS BLACKBURN MATCH REVIEW

Aston Villa resume Championship action as they welcome struggling Blackburn to Villa Park on Saturday. The Villans currently occupy the last playoff spot and are looking to continue their good run of form in the league.

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has been able to steady the ship since the sacking of Steve Bruce earlier in the season. The clubs has been free-scoring and have also been able to keep the opposition from the back of the net.

Aston Villa have few injury problems with defender Axel Tuanzebe and midfielder Henri Lansbury facing late fitness tests to ahead of the game.  Smith would be able to put a full-strength squad for the game as they look to continue where they stopped from last week impressive 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile, Blackburn are on a poor run of seven defeats in their last nine league matches and could be in danger of falling into the relegation scrap if the run is not halted. Manager Tony Mowbray is vastly experienced and t club would need to be at their best to get anything from the game.

Blackburn have been given a boost as the trio of defenders Charlie Mulgrew, Amari’I Bell and Darragh Lenihan are back from injury. Midfielder Jack Rodwell could also feature in the game despite rumours about his future.

Aston Villa are on a run of four straight victories and a victory at Villa Park to Blackburn would be their best winning run of the season. Blackburn meanwhile have been leaky at the back with the club yet to win a game after going behind.

We expect Aston Villa to come out of the traps as they would be looking for an early goal in the game. Aston Villa should be able to secure a comfortable 2-0 victory and keep their good run going for another week.
